기획논문 : 한국어 구어 문법 평가의 방향

This study is to propose new directions or viewpoint for a measurement of grammatical ability in Korean speaking tests. For this I will look at the relation between the grammatical ability evaluation in the area of communicative ability evaluation and the way of measurement of grammatical ability in Korean speaking tests. In addition, I will give a definition on the grammar of speech and clarify its contents. That is because there must first be defined the concept of the oral grammatical ability in order to measure learners` oral grammatical ability, With this in mind, I will point out that the evaluation of grammatical ability in Korean speaking tests has based not on the grammar of speech but on the sentence grammar in written language so far. I therefore will suggest some directions for the future evaluation of grammatical ability in Korean speaking tests. Firt of all, I suggest that the evaluation of grammatical ability in Korean speaking tests should be based on the grammar of speech, not on the grammar of written language. However, the system of grammar of speech has not established so far. Therefore, I suggest that the evaluation of grammatical ability in Korean speaking test should be based on the acceptability of the utterance, not the sentential accuracy. Finally the utterance which is the unit of grammar of speech has a linear structure rather than hierarchical structure unlike the sentence which is the unit of grammar of written language, so I suggest that the grammaticality of speech should be judged by whether speaker provides the necessary information which leads the hearer`s understanding.
