Visible Simulation in Medical Education: Notes and Discussion

Boosted by computer technology, visible simulation, combining precisely digital anatomical data of the human body with updated research results of medical science, will greatly improve the efficiency of medical education, including both class teaching and clinical training. In this article, after the brief introduction of the features of medical education, we introduce the following aspects of the visible simulation system: its composition and characteristics, its application in different stages of learning, its effect on various aspects of medical education, and the question in simulation software developing. As a typical case, a simulation system of cardioelectrical activity, CardioAuto, is described, which can be used for the learning of cardiac electrophysiology and training in electrocardiogram diagnosis. The authors believe that visible simulation may bring about a new horizon in the field of medical education.
