Decentralized control and overlapping decomposition of mechanical systems—Part 2: Decentralized stabilization

Feedback control design for matrix second-order systems, based on the inclusion concept of ‘extension’, is improved by using overlapping decompositions onto decentralized control design setting. The disjoint type decomposition structure of extensions is used for the generation of local control Jaws including the M-matrices stability test. The influence of a general mass matrix within an interconnected systems structure is evaluated. Several illustrative examples are included.
