Seismic Response Analysis of the Long-Span Curved Bridge

A stochastic prediction model based on the seismic records from SMART-1 was developed, and the influence of spatial variations on ground parameters was considered. Based on this model and the evolutionary power spectra model suggested by Kameda, the multi-point ground motions with non-stationary intensity and frequency were simulated, which were then used as the input for a five-span, continuous, rigid-framed, curved bridge. The curvature radius of the bridge is equal to 300 m. The dynamic responses were analyzed and then compared with the responses caused by uniform excitation and wave propagation excitation. An effort was made to investigate the potential influence of spatial variability of earthquake ground motion on curved bridges.
