Fundamental problems related to the control of wind energy conversion systems-maximum power extraction and smoothing the power fluctuations delivered to the grid

The purpose of the present paper is solving the next fundamental problems related to the control of the wind systems: (1) establishing the generator optimal speed for maximum power extraction; (2) establishing the generator load, based on the measured wind speeds and the variation of rotating masses kinetic energies; (3) delivering constant power to the grid, for long interval of time, using storing devices for overtaking the power fluctuations.
