Diagnosis of diabetes mellitus using PCA and genetically optimized neural network

Diabetes is considered today as the disease of the century given the number of diabetics that is constantly increasing. Plenty of research work has been done to carry out the classification or diagnosis of diabetes. In this paper, we presented a method for the diagnosis of diabetes based on Genetically Optimized Neural Network classifier. Proposed methodology is based on Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Neural Network (NN) and Genetic Algorithm (GA) where PCA is used for dimensionality reduction and GA is used for performance improvement of NN classifier.
