A New Algorithm for Computer Generated Hologram of 3-D Objects

A new method of synthesizing computer generated holograms of real-existing 3-D objects is proposed.A series of projections of the 3-D object from different points of view at two orthogonal directions are recorded by an ordinary digital camera. These recorded data are loaded in a computer and Fast Fourier Transform(FFT)is carried out by MATLAB.These FFT data are sampled. The complex wavefronts of the 3-D object on the later focal plane of a lens are obtained. The generated hologram can be made with the wavefronts. The results show that the 3-D real images of the object can be reconstructed by the method. The method is much simpler. The running speed of the program is increased. The quality of the reconstructed images is improved. And it also indicates a new direction to resolve the limitation of optical source and coherent length to the feasibility of hologram recording while real-existing objects are recorded holographically.
