Incomplete Melkersson-Rosenthal syndrome

Melkersson-Rosenthal syndrome is a rare disease characterized by orofacial edema, recurrent facial nerve paralysis and fissured tongue. The classical triad of this syndrome is very rarely seen that usually occurs as monosymptomatic or oligosymptomatic involvement. In this case report, we present a patient with a history of recurrent labial and eyelid edema diagnosed with incomplete Melkersson-Rosenthal syndrome. In the differential diagnosis of patients with facial paralysis and orofacial edema, Melkersson- Rosenthal syndrome should be considered and it should be remembered that incomplete cases compose a great number of these patients.
