Millimeter-wave propagation characterization for multi-gigabit video transmission system in living room

Wireless high definition video streaming is a typical application for millimeter-wave transmission. To achieve multi-gigabit transmission for multi video streaming, the system using dual polarized signal waves is a candidate to increase the throughput. In addition, beam-forming/steering is also suitable technology to obtain more high receiving power and avoid the shadowing disconnection by human mobility. In this paper, the feasibility of dual polarized transmission system and the effect of beam-forming technology are described by millimeter-wave double directional propagation measurements in a living room. The measurement results show that the system has feasibility as a fixed wireless transmission.
