The Deaves and Harris ABL Model applied to Heterogeneous Terrain

The mean velocity profile given by the Deaves and Harris model for strong winds is compared with the log-law and the power-law models for terrain with roughness changes and is shown to predict accurately the directional exposure characteristics of UK meteorological stations. The ease of application of the Deaves and Harris roughness-change method to the power-law model is also demonstrated.
