A control method of a digital photographing apparatus according to the present invention is a method of controlling a digital recording device for storing video data inputted from video recording mode to the recording medium, includes the steps of (a) to (d). In step (a), when the first signal is generated by the user's operation from the first button of the digital photographing device, a video file on the recording medium is generated and the input video data is stored in the moving image file. In step (b), by the user's operation when the first signal is generated from the second button of the digital photographing device, the storage of video data to be input is ceased. In step (c), when the second signal is generated from the second button by a user's operation, the input video data is still stored in the video file. In step (d), when the second signal is generated from the first button by a user's operation, storage of the video data input is interrupted is the video file is completed.
