Estimation of magnetic properties and damaged area width due to punching process: Modeling and experimental research

The paper describes a method for estimating the material magnetic properties and the width of the damaged area, which is the result of the carried out punching process. An analytical formula to estimate the width of the damaged area is proposed, based on the data obtained from the non-invasive measurement method. The effectiveness of the proposed formula has been verified by the results of computer simulations carried out with the help of FEM numerical model, still based on measurement results, and the experimental study of the crystallographic structure. In addition, the authors propose an algorithm, using a FEM numerical model, to identify the equivalent properties of the damaged area.
