ANALYSIS AND SIMULATION OF AN URBAN BUS ROUTE

Abstract A highly developed and flexible simulation model of an urban bus route in peak hour traffic is described. The simulation program is presented, with particular emphasis on the facilities for interactive control of the simulation run and for presentation of overall and detailed statistics from the simulation. An independent statistical program system, based on the mathematical models underlying the simulation model, has been used to provide input parameters for the simulation. This program is applied to the analysis of a bus route in central Stockholm; in this connection the mathematical models are discussed.
