Static VAR Compensator (SVC) is a reactive power compensation device. This paper researches the working principle of the TSC-and-TCR SVC and discuses its coordinated control strategy as well as the SVC voltage regulation in the transformer substations based on the relationship between the voltage and reactive power in the power grid. The mathematical model of SVC is established and the simulation is carried out with the PSCAD. According to the results of the simulation, this paper analyzes the importance and the method of the TCR-and-TSC coordinated control strategy in the SVC voltage control.
