Load capability of transformers: "Experiences within an actual grid situation"

SUMMARY As the need for energy rises and the pressure is high on maximising network capacity, Nuon wanted to know the maximum load capability of HV/MV-transformers, within actual grid conditions. This research has shown that the maximum load capability of transformers during the winter (based upon Dutch weather conditions) is 120% for two hours. During a failure in the summer the maximum capability is 110%.
