Organizations by their very nature are human systems. Although an organization may be described and evaluated by its structural and task properties, effective functioning of the organization is contingent upon the action and interaction of the organization's members. Resultant job attitudes and job behaviors are a function of the behavioral demands of the task situation as well as the relevant characteristics of the individual himself. The most widely discussed and studied job attitudes come under the rubric of job satisfaction.
