IR wireless system for ARCNet local area network

Results obtained with a commercial ARCNet LAN that uses an unguided infrared link as a medium of transmission are presented. The effects of shot noise produced by ambient light on the system receiver are characterized. A lab prototype of this LAN gave satisfactory results. In the sphere of optics, filtering of the ambient light from the working environment is studied. The spectrum characteristics for the film filter used are presented.<<ETX>>
