Use of Electro-Textiles for Development of Wibro Antennas

A fully fabric triangular shaped microstrip patch antenna is proposed for Wireless Broadband (WiBro) communication systems operating in the frequency range of 2.3GHz to 2.4GHz with 2.34GHz as centre frequency. Three highly e-cient and ∞exible antennas, built using three difierent conductive fabrics and an insulating polyester fabric are evaluated and results reported in this paper. To the best of authors' knowledge, this is the flrst attempt to utilize textile materials for the development of WiBro antennas.
