Structural analysis of multi-stiffened coupled shear walls on flexible foundations

Abstract The purpose of this paper is to extend previous research on the static analysis of mono-stiffened or boundary stiffened coupled shear walls to the analysis of multi-stiffened coupled wall structures. Up to four stiffening beams are considered; these may be located at the top and bottom of a structure and at two arbitrary intermediate levels along the height of the walls. The simple yet accurate continuum approach is employed for analysing the multi-stiffened coupled shear walls.
