STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS OF A SUBMERGED HULL AND FOIL HYBRID SUPER-HIGH SPEED LINER

The submerged hull and foil hybrid super-high speed liner (TSL- F), developed in the techno-super liner project in Japan, has a unique structural configuration. To obtain the structural response characteristics of such hybrid hull forms in waves, 3-dimensional finite element method analysis of the entire ship in wave conditions is carried out. Designing a hull for such vessels requires the minimization of the hull weight while retaining sufficient levels of structural safety and reliability. This required rational and qualitative strength evaluation. This paper outlines the results of structural .response analysis and reliability analysis in wave conditions for the TSL-F/
