All-optical Amplitude Noise Suppression of 160-Gb/s OOK and DPSK Data Signals Using a Parametric Fiber Switch

We demonstrate the noise limiting performance of a fiber switch based on parametric gain saturation in highly nonlinear fiber. Bit-error-rate measurements were performed at 160 Gb/s for on-off keying (OOK) and differential phase shift keying (DPSK) data signals.
