Performance comparison of distributed antenna and radiating cable systems for cellular indoor environments in the DCS band

This paper describes a comparison of the merits of using a distributed antenna system or a radiating cable to provide mobile coverage in a real indoor environment in the 1800 MHz DCS band. The comparison is initially based on propagation models and simulations, and validated with measurements, for internal and external areas in the building. Additionally, an extra set of measurements is performed in order to compare the electromagnetic exposure levels produced by each system.
