The execution and administration of light-rail projects

This article considers the various ways in which a newly conceived light-rail project can be implemented. The problem of managing the interfaces between the many systems involved in such a project are highlighted. The various individuals or organisations who will have a part to play during the construction phase of such a project are described and their roles discussed. A number of points of importance are raised of particular relevance to the successful outcome of such a project, particularly as relating to the primary aspects of time, cost and quality.
