An experiment on a CDM subcarrier multiplexed optical-fiber local area network

The authors describe an experimental optical-fiber local area network (LAN) that uses electronically code-division-multiplexed IF subcarriers. The LAN provides a very secure medium for interconnecting several users efficiently. By properly choosing the number of sequences for code divisioning and the number of IF subcarriers, one may construct an efficient multiaccess LAN. This work presents some preliminary experimental results on the LAN implementation as well as the transmission performance.<<ETX>>
