A description of MIL-STK-1472

MIL-STK1472 is a hypertext version of the Military Standard for Human Engineering Criteria designated MIL-STD1472. While it does not provide all of hypertext technology to the user (i.e., multi-media), it does provide a variety of information technology enhancements. Originally, the goal was to provide an automated means for tailoring the document per government contract regulations (as defined in MIL-H-46855). The intent was to enhance the engineer's job and minimize the cost of tedious document review. As the development continued the actual product ended up providing much more to the end-user thanks to the focus on providing a consistent and compatible conceptual approach.
