Analysis of predicted frequency of miss of hospitals by using the Grey Model (1, 1) and control charts: case study of a medical center in Taipei city

This study applies the Grey Model (1, 1) and Control charts to predict frequency of miss for the next month, and to observe the status for process control in a hospital. Moreover, to observe the frequency of miss for hospitals utilizing control charts, this study uses c chart and Nelson's test criterion to observe whether the control process is still stable (in control) or unstable (out of control) and to understand nonrandom nfluences in process control. The result of this study shows that prediction results are likely to increase and exceed the upper control limit in future. Additionally, this study recommended revising and augmenting new prediction points of test based on the results. Thus, study results not only provide the information for helping process managers perform process monitoring, but can also help hospitals predict future trends and improve process control management
