An H∞ Technique for The Reconstruction of the Primary Current in Industrial Transformers

Abstract In industrial electrical plants the measurement of the current is performed by current transformers. However, their reliability is compromised when the measured current is higher than the nominal value. Indeed, nonlinear phenomena such as saturation and hysteresis of the magnetic core arise. In this paper, a nonlinear filtering technique for the reconstruction of the primary current is presented. The technique is tested on real data obtained from an intensive experimental campaign carried out at ABB.
