Talking to Ourselves.

The article presents a study on the concept of inner speech in terms of developmental psychology which involves thoughts developed as a result of self-talk and mentions inability of youngsters to take other's perspectives of speech. It mentions results of medical imaging of the brains of people engaged in self-talk which reveals differences in neural underpinnings of inner dialogues compared with those of monologues. It also discusses role of inner speech in origin of human creativity.
