1/4-pixel Motion Estimation by Only Using Integer-Pixel

This paper propose the new and fast motion estimation algorithm utilizing only integer-pixel. In many papers, the fast search block match algorithms based on TSS are have been proposed. However, these are achieved a little coputational complexity reduction, because many searching points are calculated. We found that all searching points, which are located in ±1 pixel points and include by 1/4-pixel unit, could be haven the predicted SAD values. Therefore, if we know the initial nine integer-pixel points then we can predict the searching point in 1/4-pixel. This method reduces by about 30% of computational time than conventional TSS method for the search block match.
