Quasi-resonant DC-link inverter with two DC-link switches

In this paper, a novel soft switching three phase inverter is presented. The inverter main switches are turned on and off under zero voltage conditions. To achieve soft switching, an auxiliary circuit is employed. The switches in the auxiliary circuit are also soft switched and since their sources are connected together and switched complimentary, their gate drive circuit is simple. The proposed converter is analyzed and its operating modes are explained in details. Design considerations and simulation results of the proposed inverter are presented.
