A Tabu-based optimal sub-carrier allocation algorithm in multi-hop OFDMA relaying network

Due to the characteristics of anti-frequency selective fading and supporting high data rate effectively, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) has been widely considered as a key technology for the next-generation mobile communication systems. In this paper, we focus on sub-carrier allocation and utilization in the OFDM access (OFDMA) relaying network, and propose two efficient resource allocation schemes aiming to maximize network throughput and resource utilization. The first one selects links which are suitable for data transmission from base station (BS) to terminals at first. Then, interference-free links are assigned in the same group for resource reuse. In order to optimize the link groups and sub-carrier groups, a Tabu-based searching algorithm is presented as the second sub-carrier allocation scheme. Simulation results demonstrate that our proposed algorithms outperform other algorithms in both network throughput and resource utilization.
