Comparisons were made of the interpretations of roentgenograms viewed directly and after transmission by microwave. Observed differences could be accounted for by intra- and interobserver variability. It was concluded that microwave transmission of chest roentgenograms is feasible with currently available techniques. This and other currently available techniques can be applied to the care of persons in remote and medically disadvantaged urban areas.
