An alternative to the concept of the interval of quiescence (IQ) in the Monte Carlo simulation of population balances

This work presents an alternative concept to the interval of quiescence in the Monte Carlo simulation of population balances. An example is given to show that the present method is consistent with the concept of the interval of quiescence. Both concepts can be equally used in the Monte Carlo simulation of population balances if the population is not very large. For a large population, the present concept shows some advantages.
