A Integrated Method for Water Body Detection and Delineation Using Landsat ETM+data

In this paper,a new combination method has been applied to delineate and extract water body,using Enhanced Thematic Mapper(ETM+) data.The method is based on a spatial combination mask of the Spectrum-photometric Method((TM2+TM3)-(TM4+TM5)) index and the Tasseled Cap Wetness(TCW) index,and removing other objects from the mask image by using maximum likelihood classifier.In the case study of Shaoxing,the result shows that this method accurately extraction the water body,including river branches and small water areas,with a higher precision compared to other methods.
