A SPICE2 SCR model for power circuit analysis

Abstract This paper presents a simulation model for Silicon Controlled Rectifiers (SCRs) which performs fast and accurate simulations of device behaviour. Model input parameters are derived directly from data sheets and all the preprocessing steps are made by specific internal routines. The model takes into account charge storage effects, which are of great importance in analysing turn-off transient phenomena. Dynamic thermal features have not been included since standard numerical techniques require very long computation times to give significant results. The model has been implemented on Berkeley SPICE 2G network simulation program.
