Circularly polarized meshed patch antenna for cubesats and other small sattelites

A new antenna design that uses two orthogonal feeds to excite circular polarization in a meshed patch antenna is presented. The antenna is designed on a transparent borosilicate glass substrate to be suitable for integration with solar panels on a microsatellite. Simulated performance shows that for a center frequency of 2.4GHz, an impedance bandwidth and axial ratio of of 50MHz and 0.68dB, can be obtained, respectively.
