Apparatus for controlling receiving voice level in portabl telephone and method therefor

PURPOSE: A method for automatically controlling a receiving volume of a portable wireless telephone is provided to control receiving volume in a communication state, so as to correctly listen to a voice of an other party even when the user is far from a speaker. CONSTITUTION: An optical sensor(150) is closely located in one end of a receiver, and senses the amount of the external light. A controller(100) outputs a receiving volume control signal in a state that a receiving sound automatic control mode is set up and a communication state, according to a detected light result of the optical sensor(150). A receiving controller amplifies and attenuates the receiving sound according to a receiving sound control signal approval of the controller(100).
