Research on Temporal Representation of Geographic Information

The paper describes the development of temporal data model and spatiotemporal data model. Temporal is a important theme of any information. But in temporal database the base thought of temporal relational algebra is to show time-changed semantic to model temporal data of simple structure in relational model, therefore in spatio-temporal data model the temporal relational algebra is to show time-changed semantic to model temporal data of complex structure in object structure. The next is to discuss in-depth the representation of time of geographic information in STDM, and indicates several being problems of all kinds of STDM. The paper synthesizes characteristics and studying methods of spatio-temporal data model, and provides that the expression of time of geographic information should consider concrete characteristic and feature of researched object.
