The invention provides a question and answer method and a question and answer device for adaptive learning of learners. The question and answer method includes acquiring query information inputted by the learners; extracting keywords of the query information and retrieving a plurality of corresponding learning contents in preliminarily established knowledge ontology bases according to the extracted keywords; computing the similarity between the query information and the multiple retrieved learning contents one by one in corpus-based similarity algorithm and distance-based similarity algorithm combined modes, and extracting the learning contents with the similarity higher than preset threshold values; extracting adaptive learning contents from the extracted learning contents by the aid of adaptive algorithms. The adaptive learning contents are matched with user models corresponding to the learners. The question and answer method and the question and answer device in an embodiment of the invention have the advantages that the adaptive learning contents which are matched with the user models corresponding to the learners are searched from the preliminarily established knowledge ontology bases, accordingly, the recommended learning contents are pertinent, and the question and answer method and the question and answer device are beneficial to autonomic learning of the learners.
