Water-Damage Evaluation of the West-East Gas Pipelines Using AHP

In the evaluation of water-damaged West-East gas pipelines, a variety of impact factors (namely evaluation indicators) such as topography, lithology, rainfall intensity, etc., will be involved. Because of the factors different impacts on the evaluation objectives, the determination of their weight is very important. In order to evaluate the damaged West-East gas pipelines systematically, comprehensively and scientifically, this paper based on the basic principles of analytic hierarchy process (namely AHP), first analyzed the meaning of impact factors weight model according to the damage situation along the West-East gas pipelines, and then evaluated the water-damage using Analytic Hierarchy Process - Expert Weighting method (hereafter referred to as AHP-EW) which reduced the subjectivity and improved the reliability. The practical application verified the rationality and feasibility of AHP-EW method.
