A THEORETICAL MODEL FOR THE POWERING CHARACTERISTICS OF WATERJET- HULL SYSTEM

The objective of this work is to provide a theoretical framework for the explicit identification and quantification of the interaction effects between a waterjet system and the hull of the vessel containing the jet. The model is useful in the interpretation of both propulsion tests and computational fluid dynamics computation. The work is oriented toward waterjet systems with flush intakes. However, it can also be used for semi-flush and ram type intakes, with only minor adaptations.
