Expression and significance of NF-κB in mouse renal tissue with lupus nephritis-prone BXSB

Objective: To investigate the expression and significance of NF-B in mouse renal tissue with lupus nephritis-prone BXSB. WT6HZMethods: Expression of NF-B was detected with immunohistochemical staining in renal tissues of 10 male BXSB mice at age of 12 weeks and of 10 male C57BL/6 mice at the same age as control. The relationship between the expression of NF-B and pathological parameters was assessed with statistics. WT6HZResults: The expression of NF-B in BXSB mouse kidney was higher than that in the normal control (P0.05). The number of positive stained cells of NF-B in renal tissue of lupus nephritis (LN) showed a strong association with kidney activity represented by LN histological changes. Conclusion: NF-B might play a role in the pathogenesis of lupus nephritis-prone BXSB mice, and the number of positive stained cells of NF-B could be considered as a predictor for kidney activity of LN in mice.
