Case study of the Archimedes Wave Swing (AWS) direct drive wave energy pilot plant

Abstract: This chapter provides a case study of the Archimedes Wave Swing (AWS) full-scale direct drive wave energy system prototype tested offshore Portugal in 2004. The AWS wave energy conversion concept is described, as well as the pilot plant design process, construction, installation and some experimental results from offshore tests.
