Dependability Evaluation of Integrated Hardware/Software Systems

A methodology for predicting the dependability (reliability and availability) of an integrated realtime hardware/software system using a semi-Markov process is described. This methodology was used to evaluate the reliability of the shuttle mission simulators at the NASA Johnson Space Center.
