Study about the application of multi-body system theory in machining precision prediction of CNC machine tools

Based on the keystones of virtual machining technologies and multi-body system theories, the characteristic matrixes of multi-body systems are expounded firstly in this paper. After that, the tool′s shaping function and volumetric error model of CNC machine tools are studied. Moreover, the modeling methods for machining precision prediction of machine tools are set forth and analyzed. Finally, a comparing experiment about virtual machining precision and real machining precision of CNC machine tools is done in order to validate the proposed machining precision prediction method.
