The fractal Hilbert monopole: A two‐dimensional wire

A novel miniature antenna based on the fractal Hilbert geometry is presented. The antenna becomes electrically smaller as the fractal iteration increases at a higher rate than that of any other fractal geometry presented until now. Several fractal-shaped Hilbert monopoles have been constructed, measured, and compared with the classical λ/4 monopole. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
