THE SURROGATE WORTH TRADE-OFF METI:!OD WITI:! MULTIPLE DECISION-MAKERS

This paper is divided into two major parts. In the first part a review of the Surrogate Worth Trade-off (SWI) method is presented. In addition, clarifications to the original presentation of the SWT method by Haimes and Hall [1974] are discussed avoiding unnecessary duplication of material available in the book by Haimes, Hall and Freedman, [1975]. The second part is devoted to the extensions and the applications of the SWI method to multiobjective analysis where multiple decision-makers ~s) are involved. Three cases are identi fied; these are the direct group decision-making systems, the repre sentative decision-making systems, and the political decision simulations. Finally, summary and conclusions are presented.
