CICS/VS and its Role in Systems Network Architecture

Evolution of the Customer Information Control System/Virtual Storage (CICS/VS) is discussed, along with a description of how CICS/VS manages a pre-SNA teleprocessing network. Following a brief review of SNA (System Network Architecture), the role of CICS/VS within an SNA environment is described. The paper concludes by outlining SNA's advantages to CICS/VS.
