Localizing a buried planar perfect electric conducting interface by multi-view data

The electromagnetic inverse scattering problem of localizing a planar conducting interface buried in a half-space background medium is dealt with. The illuminating field is provided by plane waves at fixed frequency and varying angle of incidence and the inversion is achieved by means of the truncated singular value decomposition (TSVD). Emphasis is put on the derivation of the SVD of the relevant operator and on the role played by the reflections occurring between the background and the conducting interfaces on the achievable resolution.
