A broadband high-gain aperture coupled patch array for communication and radar applications

A broadband aperture couple microstrip patch antenna array is proposed. The proposed array offers greater than 18 dBi gain, 15 dB Forward to Backward (F/B) ratio, and −15 dB Side Lobe Levels (SLL) across the operating band. The array proposed in this work can be scaled and integrated into the conformal surface of a vehicle or aircraft provided that materials and feeding constraints can be met.
